I really like the new Chamfer toolpath available in VCarve Pro. It is very convenient and allows you to switch between 2D and toolpath views seamlessly.
However it is SO, SO slow when cutting! Almost unusable. What chances they will allow a clearance tool in the future !?
I've tried Chamfer Gadget and Moulding Toolpath, both MUCH faster, but they are not quite so good for the design stage.

Is it cutting at the feedrate you programmed the tool for? Might want to check that, yanno.

For that matter if it's using a ball end bit is the step-over set to something foolishly small? (e.g. a few thousandths of an inch)

Re: Chamfer toolpath - too slow!!
The way the chamfer gadget and chamfer toolpath work are very similar so if you're seeing a big difference in time I would suspect the other posters are right and you have something wrong with your settings.
If you could attach a file that is showing this behaviour it will eliminate the guesswork.

Re: Chamfer toolpath - too slow!!
3 methods listed to bevel/chamfer an edge. Different layers used for each option.
Chamfer Gadget: 21mins
Moulding Toolpath: 23 mins
Chamfer Toolpath: 131 mins
All same tool, using default settings for 1/4 inch ball nose mill. 12mm plywood.
Also, any advice on how to get perfect positioning for the horizontal moulding toolpath line to match the cut of the other options?
Thank you.
