Hello everyone,
I ran into something today that I have not seen before, nor know how to fix. I am using an Amana 45904 Core Box bit in VCarve 10.509 Carving a groove along a simple vector line. It is cutting longer than the line length. I am not sure how to fix this. I have attached a picture of the actual line and the preview of the cut in 2D.
I hope that someone can offer a suggestion as to how to correct this issue. Or tell me what I am doing incorrectly. Even tell me if there is a better way to carve a groove on the edge of a piece of wood stock.
Happy Thanksgiving and Thank you in advance
Andrew

The tool will always "overcut" by the radius of the tool at each end of an open vector as the toolpath is calculated from the centre point of the bit. You need to reduce the length of the vector by the diameter of the bit if you don't want that to happen.

Thank You Adrian,
That makes total sense. I never thought of it that way. And they are all separate open vectors.
This is where a layer will come in to play. As on that same vector is the outside cutout line.
