Does anyone do Freelance work?
Hi All,
Quick question (please don't shoot me down in a ball of flame!!) does anyone do freelance design work for vcarve pro?
I'm looking for a furniture designer, mainly 1960's style side boards etc that has working knowledge of vectric software.
If anyone is interested let me know!
Kind Regards
Scott

Re: Does anyone do Freelance work?
there are a couple of people on the forum that do some design work but I think it is mostly 3D stuff they do, having said that I am sure someone will be able to help, there are a few people on the forum make furniture.
I take it you don't feel confident having a go at it yourself just yet

I was rather young during this time so do you have any visuals (image, photos, etc... ) that you can provide.

Re: Does anyone do Freelance work?
Hi Sharkcutup / martin54,
Apologies I've been at work all day so haven't had a chance to get back on the forum.
It's quite standard stuff I suppose, rectangular based cabinet with drawers either in the center with cupboard either side or drawer to the left/right with the cupboards together.
martin54, spot on the comment bud, completely new to CNC game, I'm an IT technician going through a midlife crisis
I'm going through the video tutorials at the moment so I will get there in the end, but daunting as hell
As much as it's daunting though, I'm glad I didn't take up golf instead!!!!!
Thanks again guys for your replies, much appreciated
Cheers

Don't let the program fool you, it may look daunting but it is pretty easy to work with, easy for me to say I guess having worked with Vector graphics for 20 odd years
If you are looking at tutorials then spend some time with the Vector drawing tutorials, this one shows a lot of what is possible, may not be the one you want to start with if your completely new to it but still should be on your list

Just noticed I picked this out of the Aspire tutorials but it doesn't make any difference as the programs are exactly the same for this sort of thing.

Modeled Mid-Century Credenza (Actual Size)
I also have most of this Credenza nested in V-Carve Pro 10.509 Really is not that hard to do! Of course, that is once you have familiarized yourself with V-Carve and is many tools.

Hi Sharkcutup/Martin54
Thanks for your replies.
Yes I agree, I have been working with the software again today and it's actually quite intuitive when used alongside the tutorials.
Sharkcutup - That's pretty much the type of thing I would like to make
Could you advise on a few things please if you get a chance.
What modeling software do you use, I've yet to purchase one so advice would be really appreciated?
On the diagram, I noticed that there are no dado's or screw points, do you use the CNC to put these in or do you do them manually with a table router/ biscuit joiner?
Same question on the drawers, I have looked at the tutorials for the dovetailing on vcarve, however they are a bit limited and have the "dimple" where the internal sharp edges are.
Just wondered if you use a different join on those that the CNC is capable to doing, or would opt to manually cut them?
I have a Leigh dovetail jig so I can run the CNC'd parts on this, which was going to be my preferred method
Thanks again guys for all your help, much appreciated!
Cheers

Private message me and I will tell you about the Modeling Software I use.
This particular Credenza has been originally designed for use of a Kreg Jig for Pocket Holes but with a little imagination and time it could be designed with dovetails, dados and/or biscuit joiner. Same for Drawers.
