If you want something like this
One outline closed vector
And then closed vectors for each individual "hole"
Then select all vectors (including the outline vector Mike spoke of) and use the Pocket Toolpath setting Cut depth to .1875
If you want a true weave like Sharkcutup and Carveone posted, I'm afraid that can't be accomplished in VCP it requires Aspire.
You'll need to create an outline box vector and do a lot of node editing to break up the existing open vectors into closed vectors.Open Vectors In The Design Will Not Weld

John, I think the weave sharkcutup posted is from the clipart supplied with the software so that one could be done with vcarve

Re: Open Vectors In The Design Will Not Weld
Thank You. I did just that and I learned a few more things. I started out small with simple text and went from there. The preview shows just what I want the machine to cut.
Sometimes it can be difficult to ask how to do something when one does not know what something is called.
Thanks again

Happy to hear you are moving along with your project!
Yup, the simulation preview is pretty darn accurate in showing what is going to occur with your carving.
Just remember to use the correct post processor when saving your toolpaths because that can definitely make a difference in your carvings.
