HI.
I don't understand the effects and interplay between the modelling plane. zero plane and the job - both the model and the blank.
I have traipsed through the instructional material but not found one that highlights the above.
Most seem to gloss over the settings and effects in pursuit of the finished model.
Please suggest a Vectric tute that will help me get to grips with this,
The specific problem I'm trying to eliminate is cupping but I think I need to understand more rather that just fart about and hope.

Hi Randall.
setting an offset in the finishing toolpath form doesn't produce a a change - That's why I think I'm missing something in the set up with the modelling plane.
I;ve tried adding a zero plane - but I really don't understand what I'm doing - so I'm hopeful there's a tutorial with a greater focus on the setup, modelling plane and zero plane.
the ' just add this' or 'do that' isn't helping.
Of course it's always possible that I understand far less than I believe I do. )

Here is an explanation of when a zero plane is helpful: Identifying and eliminating software generated chatter marks
Note that it was written before the term "zero plane" was adopted.
