Cutting board with inlay

Post by hdtom61 »

My first cutting board with an inlay is ready:

A few steps of making the board you can see in my Youtube video https://youtu.be/SrMVjJAxOz8
The wood I've used: European beech and American walnut. For the Inlay I used VCarve Pro.

Now I'm working at the second cutting board: Base is American walnut, inlay will be American maple.

Thomas

Cutting boards are a sort of "right of passage". All woodworkers have to make at least one. Yours is absolutely beautiful and I wouldn't even consider allowing anyone to use it.

I like the use of top end grain. Makes for a much better cutting board.
Like the Ninja bear too.

Thank you for Your comments. To flip the board for cutting: Some visitors who saw the board in origin and touched the surface had the same idea ;-)

Beautiful board.
What laser are you using to engrave metal, I'm going to need that

It's a 20W Fiber Laser. In "No Corona Time" laser- and diamond engraving is my main business: https://www.wekropp.de
Based at the Corona situation the last weeks / month I've more time for such things ;-)
