I raised this a few years ago, but met resistance about its implementation. For the 25-30 years I've used various software, I've always appreciated being able to define the locations of associated files, as in SketchUp:
Any possibility of seeing this in a future update?
This would be helpful in many ways, not the least of which would be the tool database that could be shared more easily among the three PCs on which I work at different times.User-Defined Folders

Re: User-Defined Folders
Normally I am not for these sort of things. Mostly because it makes support more difficult. A tech has no idea where people put the stuff and that leads to confusing conversations.
BUT, I am also tired of the twisted, convoluted, not easily remembered paths to items.
BTW, Bill, Vectric has been on the forum more lately but stuff like this is best sent directly to them for their consideration. Sometimes a mob forms and then a gang fight breaks out, just kidding.

Re: User-Defined Folders
We have added 2 features recently that may help with this a little bit,

I hope this helps
- Tool database specifically, you can upload your database to your portal account (through the Tool Database Dialog) and then sync between your various instances on the different PCs. The sync doesn't happen automatically so you'll need to remember to upload when you make changes.
- From the Options Dialog, you can define the default location to the open/save dialog which can be tailored by operation. Just set 'File Dialog Default' to 'Operation' and then various file open / save operations (model I/O, toolpath template, etc....) will default to the directory you last used for that operation.

Re: User-Defined Folders
Thank you, Mohamed.
The tool database has been my main concern. I'll give that a try. That's what I get for not reading release notes!
