Hey I am working on a little intricate design need help with setting up the tool paths to get the design to cut right.
I attached the file if someone can help.
As far as tools - I have a .25 endmill, 60 and 90 .25 Vbits and a 90 degree 1" vbit. I also have .125 endmills
The File is broken down into parts on various layers. Just cannot get the Brooklyn Bridge Image and the Community Seal to mess well... Please if someone can help I would greatly Appreciate it.
The File is too big to post so i hope this works:

You don't have your boundaries set up correctly.
Just doing away with your first clearance cut, this is what I come up with.
I do think the file still needs more work with the hands and other areas.

I assume that your question is about how to show the rest of the bridge cables. I suspect you will have to trim each one to its intersection with the upper layer, and then close the ends with a vector following the upper layer, so they are closed vectors that can be VCarved.
You may also want to change how the vectors for the hand are selected so the palms aren't carved as deeply.

Fixitmike,
Yes, the looking to get a better show of the bridge cables, and i noticed in your picture rendering a better carve of the hands.
I have used Vcarve for a while but this is the most intricate design i have done yet. and for whatever reason i am having the darnest time getting the toolpaths to look right.
Any further insights would be great.

Jan.vanderlinden,
when you say first clearance cut do you mean the second toolpath in my list? or did i reference the layers wrong?
I think i am mostly there just need to clean this up, before i start carving it.

Re: Help with Creating Tool paths
Copy everything to another layer. Change color to make it easier to see. Then start trimming the cables to where they intersect with the seal, and trim the seal to the cables so they end up as closed vectors. Delete the cables that you worked on from their original layer, and move the trimmed cable closed vectors back to the original layer.
Here's an example of what I mean:

All I did was not run the first clearance in your toolpath tab.
But Yes, the design still needs some work.

Re: Help with Creating Tool paths
Thank you both. I will spend some time on it tomorrow. On a basic level was I going in the right direction outside the fixes you posted?
