A. Clean the house
B. Clean the shop
C. Cut something small while doing B
No prizes for your first guess
Picked a model I've had for years and never cut(Furry Whatsit is better than #547.stl) ;
Looked for small sections of Sugar Maple branch, but had to saw another chunk as I thought MAYBE
the 2 black spots continued into the wood, and when it was jigged up sized model so eyes were on the black spots. It didn't turn out to be the case...but I tried
Super exaggerated Z from .29 to 1.00 as who knows what the heck the critter actually is...so distortion OK:)
1mm TBN Offset toolpath for the Rough Finish toolpath at 6%....Only 25 minutes.
Got some funky Sugar Maple waste out of the deal:)
Doing a second pass now as it's so quick and I needed another coffee, and this time running DC to get that packed dust at bottom.
Next is a relief pass for the .25mm TBN, using the 1mm.
Spindle just shut down...relief pass twice next...then swap to .25mm TBN and clean shop while cutting.

Beaver.
Though it could be a wood chuck too. They look pretty much the same from the front. In fact, some drunken woodchucks have been known to go home at night with an ugly beaver.

Re: Furry Whatsit
Model height on this was exaggerated almost 4X.......Definitely a two-bagger...and NO way cute!!
Name on this particular one will probably "What the Heck is THAT?" Think a little flame and coloring(and maybe grass CA'd to bottom groove) will make people cringe away
(hard to get a good pic of him, as he's 1 inch deep) No way is it one of my "Cute" models!!
(But it was a fun afternoon!)
Got the "Creature" in front of a fan for a couple days to dry while I think about it.
Still some shaping and sanding and base beveling to do also. Make him into a doorknob and nobody would enter the house:)
