Hello
I wonder how to count my cnc work. I found on the internet that people count it from the number of meters of cut.
Where can I find a summary of the trajectory length in the program? It is not about time but the length of the cut
Thanks

Re: Path length
Go to the measure tool (last icon on the first row under Edit Objects). Select the middle option "Span/Contour Properties" and then click on a vector. The Perimeter value under the Vector heading will tell you the total length of the vector.
You'll need to repeat that for each vector in the job to get a total cut distance. As far as I'm aware there's no way to get the total cut distance from VCarve outside of writing a gadget.
Might be worth checking if your control software has the ability to give you that value.

I am curious, why is it not about time?

Re: Path length
When I was doing this for a living we charged based on time rather than distance.
I know WinCNC gives me this. Does Mach3?Might be worth checking if your control software has the ability to give you that value.

+1 to what Ted said
What is this actually for? Is it for work in a certain Industry where things are worked out differently? Not something I have come across before & not a question I have seen asked on the forum
