Two sided job using same surface for Z
Is it needed to reset the Z zero depth before carving the second side, if the option to use the same surface was chosen? Or does the software automatically compensate?

Re: Two sided job using same surface for Z
My auto tool changer always zeros each new tool between toolpaths.
My question is for when I flip the material over for carving the second side of a two-sided job. What is the new place to zero the Z axis to?
When I choose the option to always zero to the top of the material, I don’t have to change the zero point, when I flip the material over.
When I choose the option to zero to the same surface on the material, I thought I had to change the zero point to the location of the surface which has been flipped over. But that didn’t work.

Re: Two sided job using same surface for Z
Can you show a screenshot of your left side Material Setup?
Usually with Same Side...one face will be Z-Zeroed to spoilboard.
Comes in handy for me to VCarve tiny font inscriptions on the back of the piece Zeroing from material top.
And then from the spoilboard for a full surface 3D with 3 bit changes for details.
On your right side Material set-up....the red dot showing Z-Zero should change depending on which side you are viewing....REALLY helpful to double check before you set up second side as a reminder!
