DXF missing lines on import to vcarve

Post by David2180 »

I'm trying to import the current file to cut into vcarve pro but it doesn't come in with all the lines, what am I doing wrong here?

It works for me. You need to zoom way, way out. After importing, press F9 to center the import.

Interesting..... :( If I double-click on the file from the file manager, it opens Aspire, and it seems to import correctly. If I import dxf vector into an open file and it's missing lots of parts. :?

Gerry.

I don't see any parts missing. I opened the file with Aspire then imported the same file. Both are identical.

Steve the file you have screen shot is missing the parts I'm referring too, not sure why though, there are more lines in the actual drawing than your screen shot shows.

It's importing differently between V9 and V10. I expect gkas has different versions loading on a double click.

With V9 it imports fine with all lines, but with V10 a lot of the data is missing. Interestingly I tried to load it another program and it said it wasn't a valid DXF/DWG file so I'd guess something went wrong with the conversion presumably from Sketchup going by the over thread.

Well, I opened the file in Corel Draw and, lo and behold, it was different. There are many versions of .dxf files so I'm not sure what is going on. Aspire 10 does open or import it (sort of).

You are correct.... I forgot I even had 9.5 installed. I was 'only' leaving it in until I was sure 10 was OK.
