zooming

why is there a difference in zooming for 2d and 3d with the mouse wheel ? almost any respectable cad software it's the same . be it sketchup or other software autocad etc

What difference are you referring to? VCarve isn't a CAD program.

with a 2d image or vector you point the mouse at the detail you want to see and scroll the wheel mouse en you zoom in on that exact spot in a 3d view you can only zoom in at the dead centre of the screen so if you want to closely examine a spot yopu have to move the picture over en start scrolling and move over en start scrolling so that is the difference (I come from fusino 360) and sketchup and there are numerous graphical programms that works as a point en zoom hope it is clear kind regards Hans out Holland
