Ramp settings

Post by paul60 »

I have a large number of screens to cut enclosed sample file
what would be the recommended ramp setting to cut this file
trying to get away from the mark left by the plunge cut
using a .125 spiral down cutter thanks

I would use lead-in and lead-out and ramp on the lead-in.

I'd also recommend that you use the Curve-Fit tool to get rid of all the extra nodes before toolpathing and cutting the file.

It depends on the material thickness, but somewhere between 0.5" and 2 inches. Play around with circular vs. straight line too.

You may need to move the start node to the middle of a longer span to give it room.
