Third toolpath for cutting out 3D carving missing?

Post by jeffmorris1956 »

I have VCarve Desktop 9.5. I created a 3D star similar to one shown at https://www.vectorclip3d.com/index.php/ ... es-insigna in AutoCAD. After importing the star to VCarve, I created roughing toolpath and finishing toolpath. The third toolpath for cutting out 3D carving is missing. Cut3D has the third toolpath. How can I fix the problem?

Hi. Does your model have an outline vector to create a Profile cutout Toolpath?

I found a video tutorial called "CNC Mini Project" It said to create vector boundary around the model. Later, it said to use the vector boundary for cut out profile. Is this correct? I'm hearing-impaired and the videos don't have closed captioning.

You are correct. The vector boundary creates a line around your 3D model. You can then use the line to make a Profile Toolpath to cut out your model as if it were a 2D part.
