Vector Selector - "Select Circles Matching..." not working

VCarve Pro V8.5:

Vector selection using the Vector Selector - "Select Circles Matching..." does not work for very small circles. I am trying to create a drilling toolpath for a PCB board and am unable to select the holes using the vector selector. My holes diameters are: .0191, .0276, .0354, .0380, .0402, .0433. If I load the diameters *100 (resulting in 1.91, 2.76, 3.54, etc.) I can select using 1.91, 2.76, etc. But that's a ridiculous solution. Not to mention making the board unreadable in VCarve!

Anyone have any suggestions?

It works for me. I created some small circles, .0111, .0122, .0133, .0144, and the vector selector always selected the correct ones.

I just created circles .011, .022, .033 and it doesn't work.

Version 8.5 of VCarve Pro?

I've rebooted my machine, I've turned off "Process User Files" and still it won't properly select. Has no one else seen this sort of thing happen?

I'm open to (almost) any suggestions....

Where were these circles created? In Aspire?

I exported them out as both eps and dxf then took a look at them in Corel Draw. None of them came in at precisely the dimensions listed, they were off at the 4th and 5th decimal places. Now, that may be due to the export from Aspire, I have no idea. If they came from another program a lot of other software plats fast and loose with exporting. Some of them also play fast and loose with actual sizes. Why I have no idea.

If it were me I would draw up the sizes you listed, copy and paste a bunch of them within Aspire, no outside program, and then see how it works. I have this sneaky hunch those holes came from another program.

You are correct, they were imported from another program. However, I have started from scratch and created circles from within VCarve with diameters of .0111, .0122, .0133, and .0144, and I can either select ALL or NONE, depending on what I put in for the diameter.

I've been fighting this for two days. I upgraded to v8.5 from v8.0 hoping that would solve it. Same results.

It's like there's a "global" tolerance taking precedence, but I have no idea where it would be. In the options, it is set to .0004.

I am not sure, are you saying now that you have redrew the circles it is working?

Pretty darn sure those tolerances in the options have nothing to do with your problem.

I'm saying I created new circles from within VCarve (no import) and it still doesn't work.

Installed 8.5 on another computer and it doesn't work there, either.

Is it possible that there is a limitation in VCarve that does not exist in Aspire?

Just downloaded VCarve Pro 9.5 Trial edition

Circle selection works properly in version 9.5. Unfortunately, I have VCarve Pro 8.5.

So apparently I am the only person on the planet that is attempting hole drilling in a PCB using VCarve Pro 8.5.

VCP9.517 here, and just tried automatic vector selection on your .0354" holes, and worked exactly as expected.
Only tried that one hole size though, by duplicating your toolpath(which worked) and plugging .0354" in,........ as supper is waiting.

Is this working for anyone in VCarve Pro 8.5? I'm assuming it is not, but if it is that means it is something I'm doing or have set. How that could be with my clean install on a different computer and creating the circles in VCarve I don't know...but still hoping I can get it working.

I have 9.5 and 7 installed and it works fine on both of those. Did you try different tolerance values?

It would seem odd if there was a bug that stopped it working in an intermediate version. As a workaround you could move each set of circles to it's own layer and use the toolpath association that way.

DID try it on a different computer with VCP8.517 on it...and saw what you mean.... .011,.022,.033" inch circles were all picked at once even though there were 3 toolpaths done with the hole Diameter and .001" tolerance selected. It DID select .075" holes separately though.
Never had to do holes that small...Think Adrian's Layer option will be your best way(it's how I usually draw anyways).

I have Aspire 8.5 and I am sure that there is no difference in this functionality between Aspire and VCarve Pro.
I created two ridiculously small circles much smaller than your inch circles.
The first one is 0.01mm and the second one 0.001mm.
As you can see Aspire 8.5 had no problem selecting only the matching tiny circle while ignoring the larger one.
I am not sure why it is not working in VCarve Pro 8.5

It seems to work fine in VCP8.5 in mm, but not in inches. I just tried your test with .01 and .001mm circles with 0 tolerance and it worked fine.
