Rotating drawing

Post by Art Ransom »

I imported a jpeg and traced it. Then mirrored the trace to create the part. The mirror didn't align properly because the jpeg was a few degrees off horzontal. How do I rotate the jpeg a few degrees to get it horzontal?

Hello Art,

Once you have traced your vectors, if you click on them twice,
four blue control handles should appear at each corner, you can use one
of these control handles to rotate the selected vectors.
If you have other vectors on the screen, you might need to group the
vectors that you wish to rotate together, to make this easier.

Cheers,

Mark.

Art,

I have run into this same issue. I dislike using the mouse to rotate the vectors because it is not precise enough for my needs.

However, if you click on the Rotate Vectors button on the tool panel it will allow you to type in the value to rotate the vectors by. In addition, it will allow fractional rotation (-1.25) to rotate the vectors 1 point 25 degrees. Use positive values to rotate one way and negative values to go the other way.

Just thought I'd expand on Mark's advice :D
CNC Woodworkers do it with a 3D Touch Probe!
