I'm new to the CNC world and loving it so far. I have Vectric VCarve Desktop which, I understand, you can't import gadgets but I have a question on some of the "free" projects that are on the Vectric website. Many of the project state VCarve Pro, but can I use them with VCarve Desktop?

Yes. But...
Some of the project might be to big for the Desktop version.
I'm thinking the Desktop version is limited to 24 x 24 inches.

there was only one Vcarve option & that was Vcarve pro 
A lot of those projects date from before Desktop was introduced which is why there is no mention of it when you look to see what software can be used to create the project.
