Ramp Flat Area Clearance Tool?

Post by Zcases »

Is it possible to ramp a flat area clearance tool? Boy this would really help with a delicate 303 SS job I'm struggling with ........

I suppose a workaround could be to offset all vectors to compensate for the v tool centerline, and make a new pocket and use ramps. I still wonder why the ramping wouldn't be an option in the clearance pocket toolpath though? Or did I miss something?

I've used ramping for pocketing many times.
here is a screen capture of the pocketing menu with the ramp selection about 3/4 of the ways down the image. ( Ramp Plunge Moves)

You are talking about Ramping into the material and not Lead in correct?

Oh, thanks, thats not what I mean..........I want to have a "Flat Area Clearance Tool" ramp in, when I am setting up a V carving toolpath. It appears that VCP doesn't yet do this.
