V carve 8.5 Problem with Right Click Open With

Hi guys
right got a problem with the right click open with in 8.5
Recently up graded and can for the love of god get this to work (lets you choose the program with choose default but doesn't work)
We use this program all day every day and this method fits nicely with our MIS system
We right click and open with a verity of files and now the upgrade has effected our work flow
Even more that I uninstalled V8 but did manage to reinstall it although im running into problems with file being created with newer versions
were running 2 copys one on with windows 7 and the other with windows 10 and its the same for both
Any help would be much appreciated

It's a continual problem unfortunately that I've come across many times. Windows just doesn't pick up that you want to use a different version of a program with the same name no matter how many times you set in the standard control panel options.

In the end I used a 3rd party program - http://defaultprogramseditor.com/ - to set mine and it's been fine since.
