Need Instructions On Using Open_Book ClipArt

Post by trex42 »

I would like to carve text into the Open_Book ClipArt file.
Do you have instructions on how to accomplish this?
Do you have a CRV file that you can share?
Thanks

In the tips and tricks section of the Vectric support site are a couple
of short videos that show this "Distorting Text - Book" and "Project Toolpath onto 3D Model"
Look at these.

Others will also answer this and may have more information .

There is a video here that shows how to distort the text to fit the pages: http://support.vectric.com/tips-and-tri ... video_id=8

As far as machining it you'll probably want to use the VCarve toolpath for the text and use the option to "Project Toolpath onto 3D model" to get it to follow the shape of the pages when it carves (option shown highlighted in orange in the attached image). Use the preview to help you see how it will look when cut.

Obviously you'll need to 3D rough and 3D finish the book before you machine the text into it.

Cheers,
James
