Help with Linenfold

Post by giametti »

I am bidding on building an alter table which will have linenfold paneling on the faces of the 5 1/2" square legs. The attachment shows the tracery and the top of the linenfold.
I'm confident I can handle the tracery using the new Moulding toolpath in VCP along with some V-carve toolpaths. I believe the body of the linenfold can also be generated fairly easily using the Moulding toolpath. The top and bottoms ends are a different story. Any thoughts on how to carve them (short of doing them by hand)?
I'll appreciate any pointers. I'm fairly new to VCarve (currently have VC Desktop but will upgrade to Pro for this project if only to start using Gadgets).

Jim...
I would suggest getting a quote on a model fro Michael Mezalick. This is RIGHT in his wheelhouse. You might be surprised how affordable having a specific job based model is when compared to the cost of delays and learning.

Hi guys, I know it has been a while, but how did you do the ends for the foldenlinen pattern. I get the the two-rail sweep, but struggling with the scroll ends. Any help will be greatly appreciated..

I need to end up with the panel in the image.

Ok Found the first two steps for the process. Watching the videos on Banners and linenfolds on Youtube.

1. Banner 3D Modeling
