a question about nesting

Post by figurenholz »

Hello from Germany

...my english is not the best ;o)

I have a Probling with nesting function. I had create some outline-files to cut it out with a CNC-mill. I had nest the files and all the parts needs 2 sheets. Now I see a fail into the parts and will repair 3 parts.

How I can correct parts that I nested?
I must go the step back- before nesting.

I cant find a funktion that delete the 3 sheets and put all files into one layer.

thank you, Ron- I hope you can understand my words ;o)

If you have just done the nesting you can press Ctrl-Z (or choose undo from the Edit menu) to put things back to where they were.

If you have exited VCarve since doing the nest all you can do is to manually copy the vectors back to the default sheet, fix the errors and re-nest.

Hello

The second way is the way I had tested- I can copy all parts to the bitmap layer, but there I also have 3 sheets on it and in my drawing Window i still have the different sheets.

I can post my file here?

When you redo the nest it will remove the other sheets. You must move all your vectors to the default sheet first though.

Click Sheet 1, press Ctrl-A then Ctrl-X, click on the Default Sheet and press Ctrl-V. Repeat for sheets 2 and 3.

good morning

It doesnt work ;o(

I Copy all parts to Layer1 but there are also 3sheets.

So I opened a new VCarve session and copy all the files from session1 to session2 ---than all parts go into one layer or sheet.

I know- its a stupid way to get it, but the other things I cannot do.

You're missing the step of copying all the vectors to the Default sheet as I said in my previous post. Moving the layer they are on will not affect the sheets.

Once you have all the vectors on the default sheet you can then re-nest to go back to multiple sheets with the corrected vectors on each one or, if you no longer want to nest onto multiple sheets, do a nest with a single vector and the other sheets will be removed leaving all your vectors on the default sheet.

Duplicate the job size to 1600 X 800 and copy all vectors to it (as Adrian says CTRL-A, CTRL-X, CTRL-V).

Then correct your vectors , reset the job size back to 800 X 400 and nest again.

Attached is the large job with all vectors on one sheet.

Works fine here.
