Zoom tool in 3d preview mode

Post by Bagzzz »

Hi All, I have been using V-Carve Pro for almost a year, and love the ease
of use. I have also noticed that my cnc runs smoother with v-carves G-code than my previous program.
What I would like to see is a zoom tool in 3d preview mode so that you
can zoom in on certain areas to make sure all the cut lines and v carving are the way you would like them. Sometimes I rout a job and there are a couple small trouble areas that you cannot see in the normal 3d preview.
Anyone else out there having this problem?

Hi Bagzzz,

Glad to hear the software is doing a good job of running your machine.

A Zoom Tool would be useful.

Some users aren't aware that you can zoom using the mouse.

Holding the Right mouse button and Pushing / Pulling zooms In / Out

The key to using this successfully is to Pan (move the model) so the region you wish to zoom into is in the middle of the screen. This is done by,

Holding both Left & Right mouse buttons down and moving the mouse. This moves the model around in the 3D window.

With the region of interest in the middle of the screen

Hold the Right mouse but and Push the mouse away from you.

I hope this might help.

Tony

What Tony posted works great, Bagzzz.

If you have a scroll mouse, you can also use the scroll wheel to zoom in and out. Alas, though, you'll have to use the left and right mouse button moving technique to position the model before or after zooming. The scroll wheel only zooms in and out from the center of the viewing window, not where the mouse pointer is positioned unless Tony has a few more tricks up his sleeve.

Hey, maybe we can make an official request to add the Zoom to Mouse Pointer feature in the Preview Window to a future revision of VCarve Pro. Hmmm, I think I just did.

Well, anyway, Bagzzz, I hope this helps you out,
HayTay
