Steve,
Thanks for your efforts with the new forum look and your recent changes to improve it.
My one request would be to make the dividing lines between posts darker. I think these are what you just made wider, but on my laptop screen I can hardly see them because they are a light color. A darker color would help me.
Tim

OK folks - just kidding on the music. I might hear voices from time to time but I'm not - repeat - NOT - hearing music...no need for any more private messages, emails, etc.
Jonesy - received your "this forum is not the place for...." PM and you're right of course, but 'cmon now - certainly you didn't believe....

I am experiencing a couple of hassles with the new forum; I have to manually log in on each visit (despite asking 'remember me' each time) and the new posts are not being indicated as there were previously, even after I log in. Anyone else experiencing this?
Using Gates' dreaded IE7, might switch back to Firefox & see if that helps....

I get the same thing on the Vista OS but the XP seems to work ok, some of the times, on a good day, if I hold my foot just rightOg wrote:I am experiencing a couple of hassles with the new forum; I have to manually log in on each visit (despite asking 'remember me' each time) and the new posts are not being indicated as there were previously, even after I log in. I have resorted to looking at post dates although I still miss some...

Would it possible to open attached images rather than to download them. I've checked with 3 different browsers and it look like the forum is configured to upload the attached images when I click on the thumbnail to see the larger version.
What I prefer is to open the larger images in another tabs (or at worse in another windows).

New Forum Look
Still can't make my mind up as I found no problem with the old look, I'm finding the new post folder is not highlighting when a new post is added.
Cheers,
Colin

No new posts
Seams really werd that in the old forum that I could hardly keep up with the new posts. Now that we have a new forum look there are no new post even when you can get logged on. Yuuk! Yuuk!

I have switched to using Firefox when I visit the Vectric forum and it is working fine, I don't have to log in again on every visit and the new posts are now being highlighted which wasn't happening using IE7.
But the way pictures insist on being downloaded rather than just opening in a new window or tab as previously is a bit frustrating & slower.
Hey, other than the little bad bits it's all good!

Pictures are downloaded because of the (for example):
...header that's being inserted (by phpBB, I guess).
It's been ages since I've been doing web stuff, but if I remember correctly, this will force browser to initiate download (and use provided filename as default, when save dialog opens).
Content-type header is correct and shows "image/jpg" (or image/jpeg - argh, just closed all data I was looking at ), but content-disposition messes it up.
I presume there is an easy way to prevent this header from being sent, in phpbb sources.
EDIT: Just checked 2.0.22 sources, and can't find an instance of content-disposition (especially in lowercase) being sent, so it might've been added by Vectric guys or some add-on/mod/whatever.
Code: Select all
content-disposition: attachment; filename="IMG_4050.jpg"
