VA3D Import Fail

Post by Perry »

Hi folks.
Haven't been here for a while, hoping to change that.

The issue I am facing is, I am creating a sign and trying to utilize a banner I purchased long ago from VA3D. I set up the file in VA3D as usual, save my toolpaths (Shopbot (arcs) (in)) and save the file to import into VC Pro.

When I attempt to import into VC Pro, an error comes up indicating:
"Failed to import toolpath data from file"
"File Location"
"Check that the file contains toolpaths"

I verified that toolpaths exist (76000 lines if opened in Shopbot software) in the finishing toolpath.

I am using VA3D ver1.204 and VC Pro ver4.600

Any suggestions on a cure for this issue?
Have I forgotten (likely) a step in the process of creating a model in VA3D?

Appreciate the help, looking forward to being active again on this board.

Hi Perry,

Welcome back!

I believe James' reply in this thread also answers your question. You may want to contact them directly at support@vectorart3d.com.

Added: I just tried a VA3D Machinist V1.204 file with both VCP V4.6 and V5.5. It worked in VCP V5.5 but not V4.6, so I believe this is your issue.

Thanks for the quick reply Tim.
I figured it may be something along those lines.
I think I have a previous rev of VA3D.
If not, I'll contact James!
And it great to be back!
I'll be sure to post some new stuff as it comes off the bot!
Til then...
