Copy / pasting tools in library

Post by erict »

Hi, I've imported the amana tool library, and would now like to copy the tools I own from the group 'Amana Tool Master' into the group 'Tools I own'. However, while I can copy a tool, I can't figure out how to paste it. Is there a way to paste tools?

Not to my knowledge. Just click and hold to drag the tool to a new group.

You drag and drop within the tree rather than pasting.

Ugh, that is not a good way. The amada list is multiple screens' worth, and it won't autoscroll. But pressing Page Up while holding the mouse key down is working. Thanks!

Personally I never bother with importing whole tool libraries. It's far easier to just enter the ones you want. After all the majority of the data needs to be changed for the machine/material combination in use anyway.

You could work harder or you could work smarter.

Collapse all sub categories so that you're not scrolling through a sea of tool definitions.

Create a Folder within a category of tools in the Amana base. In my example below I called it "My Vees". Gather all the tools that you need into it (very little dragging movement):

Once you've got all the tools collected drag "My Vees" into the "My Tools" group:
