Hello Everyone,
I've searched for a solution to this, but have come up empty.
I attached a simple photo frame I'd like to produce with vcarved text in the frame itself.
I'm using VCarve Desktop 11.5.
The example I'm trying to follow is a Youtube video found at:
How To CNC: Design, Cut & Engrave a Picture Frame with Vectric Aspire
(I've tried doing this in the Aspire trial download as well.)
Thank You!

Re: Adding Text to Moulding Toolpath
The moulding toolpath doesn't create a model so you can't use the "Project to 3D" on the V-Carve / Engraving toolpath. If you have an underlying 3D model it can be done. Without the Project to 3D option you get what you currently have where the V-Carve toolpath is cutting to a constant depth and the moulding toolpath is obliterating it.
I only have the trial version of VCarve v11.5 so I can't export your moulding curve. If you could export that curve into an SVG, PDF, or EPS file I'd be happy to make a 3D model that you can import (it would only take a minute or two). Then you can enable the Project to 3D option for the V-Carve toolpath and get what you're looking for.

Re: Adding Text to Moulding Toolpath
Thank You Very Much!
LOL - I was afraid that was the case!
I don't have the completed project yet, so it wouldn't make sense to have a model made of this project.
I guess I'll experiment with the trial version of Aspire and see what comes of that.
If I get it figured out then I suppose I'll need to consider doing an upgrade.

Re: Adding Text to Moulding Toolpath
Well. Replicating that curve was easier that I thought.
If you want to play with a proof of concept file import the attached STL file into your project. The STL file is compressed into a ZIP file for the forum.
For the position move the model model to the top of the project.

Re: Adding Text to Moulding Toolpath
Thanks!
I downloaded the aspire trial and found it very easy to do what I wanted.
Now I just need to decide if I want to spend the money to do the upgrade.
(Very likely!)
Considering learning one of the available free programs for creating these frames.
Thanks for taking the time to respond!
