Post by Bill bertham »

If it doesn't show in the preview 99.99% it is hardware related.

Check your set screws/belts/connections for loose set screws.

Check your grounding.

Please upload the file so we can check your settings.

UPDATE 1

After re-reviewing your photo it looks like you are using an EM that wasn't made to plunge.
The dimple effect is from the hollow end of the EM.
When there is sufficient space for the bit to move in the X and Y direction the dimple is removed.
Your dimples are where the bit was confined and could not move and leaves a dimple.

The dimple doesn't show up in the preview because the software doesn't know you are using an EM with a hole in the end of it.
That hole is from the manufacturing process where a center was used to stabilize the bit while it was being cut.

Thank you so much for your reply. I will go and take a look at my EM to check it.
It's great to know that there are people on here with so much knowledge.

It could be clutter or "noise" from an unclean low resolution photo import.

If that were the case Steve then I would expect to see that in the toolpath preview & the OP says that they are not in the preview. Could well be a tooling issue as ohiolyons has suggested, surprised the op has not asked about what appears to be tool chatter on the left side of the photo

Those look like plunge moves to me.
He still has to make a finish path with a smaller tool to get the lettering cleaned up.
I would almost bet that the circles will disappear when he makes that cut.

I have seen many times that during the clearance passes there are many different artifacts that present themselves but often times after the finish or final toolpaths have been performed these artifacts are gone.

It is very similar to judging someone before they actually get to know them!

First Impressions sometimes are not always the best!

Just Saying!!! :|
