Need some help please

Post by Jan.vanderlinden »

I will have my 50th. wedding anniversary in just a couple of weeks
and I would like to make something nice for my wife.
Yes, she's put up with me and my BS for over 50 years.
I'm kind of thinking about a nice plaque or something.
Here's the problem, I'm kind of a dumb ass when it comes to ideas.
Any help is appreciated.

The Be Mine project on Design & Make is a good starting point. Add a bit of text for the 50th Anniversary and your are most of the way there.

Corian makes really nice plaques. You can buy stands like this at most hobby stores.

I used this model from 3dwave.us for our 15th Anniversary.

Here's an idea that was a quick model using Aspire's clipart which depicts a frame of our 50th. We will be celebrating our 53rd in June. By the way, I had a lot more hair back in those days then I have now.

Jan,
Consider making her something personal that she might use daily. A small jewelry box comes to mind. Engrave it on the inside.

I made this family crest that celebrates both of our families for an anniversary gift a few years ago. The crest has elements of Italian and Irish symbolism. It hangs an a wall in our dining room. It is a very special remembrance of our marriage and heritage.

I appreciate everyone's input.
This is what I came up with.
A nice piece of Walnut.
I'm kinda leaning towards the one with the rope border.
What do you think?
