Toolpaths..

Post by ca.280 »

Setting up a program to cut out 5 separate pieces on one sheet of Acrylic. All were setup as individual files.
All were set to cut to the outside. Opening the toolpath display shows four cutting to the
outside and one to the inside. If I change that one toolpath to cut to the inside, the toolpath displays
it cutting to the outside. The others all remain the same. Any comments appreciated.

It sounds like you are cutting an open vector. Use the node editor and zoom into the start of the vector (green square). You will probably find that the vector is not closed. There are several methods you can use to close the vector.

Outline was checked with vector validator, said everything is fine.

Update; deleted the outline file and reset the parameters. Outside and inside are still reversed,
stays in the CC/W direction (climb) cannot be changed to C/W, (conventional). Again all the
other pieces are correct.

The vector validator does not check for open vectors. Use Edit-Selector-Select All Open Vectors.
Also, use the node editor and zoom in multiple nodes, there may be a small loop that you can't see, although this is not likely.
If this doesn't work, post the file so someone can look at it.

I expect that the vectors for the toolpath were manually selected? Here's where using the vector selector to select closed vectors by layer rules.
