Misaligned Columns in Cut2D Desktop

Post by Bruno2021 »

Since Cut2D Desktop only allows 60 x 60 cm projects, I figured I would divide my wasteboard in several sections when drilling holes for insert nuts. After finishing the holes in the first section, measuring about 44 X 44 cm and illustrated in grey in the image attached, I proceeded with the next section, illustrated in white in the attached image. Seemed fairly easy to do. But the columns are now showing up misaligned as per the image attached. BLACK circles represent the file in Vectric Cut2D, BLUE filled circles have been cut already, RED filled circles represent where the machine is now cutting). Not only that, the alignment error grows from left to right (X-Axis of machine) until it reaches a difference of about 0.5 cm in the rightmost column. I have triple-checked all measurements in Vectric and everything is correct. I have measured the deviation in the X-Axis and the difference I found in 78 cm is only 0.2 cm which I don't think would account for such a large difference. What is going on?

Are they misaligned in the preview or just when you cut it?

If they are misaligned in the preview can you post your file?
(How do I upload files or photos to the forum?)

No, they are fine in the preview. It's in the cut that they get out of wack. Meanwhile I checked the X-axis motor coupler and the collar clamp wasn't properly tightened so I think the X lead screw has been slipping. This might be what was causing the issue. I have properly secured the collar clamp but have yet to test with a new cutting.

X-axis lead screw was slipping because of poorly tightened collar clamp.
