Cutting acrylic.

Post by ca.280 »

Need some info. We are cutting cast acrylic and would like to ramp down for each successive cut. However, the ramp action slows
the feed rate down so much while occurring that the plastic melts and sticks to the bit. How do you maintain the same feed rate for ramping??
Thanks.

Set your Z plunge rate set to the same number as your XY feed rate.

During a ramp the Z plunge rate will be the limiting factor on movement.
