grooves on the sides of the 3d tabs

Post by mlowka »

I use cut2d pro. Everything works great, the etges of the material are smooth except the tabs. The last pass is set to 0.13mm- it smoothes the edges but I think this pass makes the grooves by the tabs 3d (I'm attaching a photo). What can I do to make the space by the tabs as smooth as the rest of the edges?

Looking at the poor quality of the edges on the job as a whole I'd say the issue is flex/movement in the machine itself. When the machine approaches a tab it slows and lifts which changes the load on the bit. Generally I've only see it that bad on 2D tabs but, even though 3D tabs are so supposed to reduce it, that's what it looks like to me.

If the preview doesn't show the grooves then it's definitely a machine issue.
