conventional / climb tool paths

Post by CONRAD »

I'm machining eva foam that requires a convention tool path for an acceptable finish. If I draw two lines parallel 5" long not connecting, I can only draw a single path or one profile. I can't switch direction by adding a second profile. What am In doing wrong?

When you machine on a vector the software has no way of knowing which side of the cut is the finished part so the direction of the conventional/climb can be either way. When it's outside or inside it can assume which is the finished edge.

If you want to change the direction of the cut with an "On profile" you need to go into node edit mode and change the start node from one end of the line to the other and recalculate the toolpath.
