Engrave Sequence

Post by rfhall50 »

I am using Cut2D Desktop on a DIY CNC. My CNC is having problems getting back to center some of the time. (Working on the problem now.)

What I would like to do, is to ENGRAVE text strickly from Left to Right. Most of the time, Cut2D creates a tool path Left to Right and it engraves fine. But if it splits it up, i.e., some letters done center to right first, then the rest from left to right, alignment is no always correct. BTW, this is all on a single line.

Can I force each ENGRAVING line to go Left to Right ?

Thank You.

With engraving you don't have the options that you have with a profile toolpath where you have a lot of control over the machining order so there is nothing you can really do to force it to go in one direction. You could try selecting the text (assuming it's not one standard text item) letter by letter in the order you want it cut but as there's no vector selection order option with a engraving toolpath that might not do anything.
