CUT2D Newbie needs simple help

Post by rmhorwitz »

Howdy folks!
My name is Rickey, and I am evaluating Cut2D to see if it works with my custom hardware (I designed and built my own CNC). I am using DrufelCNC as my CNC Interface and a Digital Dream UC300 CNC controller. DrufelCNC provides a postprocessor for all Vectric products so there should not be any issues. I noticed that the evaluation version of Cut2D does not allow me to save profiles and consequently, I cannot fully evaluate the functionality of this software. However, it tells me that there is a sample profile that I can save. Where is this sample profile located or how can I build it?

Thank you in advance,

Rick

Are you referring to a Machine Profile?

Milo,

I do not know the correct vernacular. However, I have included a snapshot of the response when saving the toolpath profiles.

Milo,

Thanks! I downloaded the file and saved the toolpath (.TAP file) and ran it on the Drufel GUI. Winner, winner, chicken dinner!!!! The only gripe I have now is that the script does not home and does not turn off the spindle. Is this a post processor issue?

Thanks again,

Rick

Yes. The link to the post processor editing guide is under Help
