I went to an amateur woodworking show in Saratoga, NY early in April. Wayne Barton, one of the premier chip carvers in the US, was at the show. I purchased one of his books. The projects and patterns are beautiful and inspiring.
I converted the images for the box shown with V-Carve and built the box today. The box is 4 1/2" tall, 8 1/2" deep and 14 1/2" wide. I used a 60 degree V-bit to do all of the carving. I haven't finished it yet but I wanted to get a picture on the forum
Phil thats great looking Box.. how long did it take you to carve that? Did you have all the material laid out and carve all the carving at once then a profile?
Also did you clean the scan up any? or right from scan to cut? Looks good, thanks for sharing.
Thats very nice. I always think that the more detail on a piece the better, but then I'm afraid of over doing it....but then I see something like that with lots of detail and it really looks fantastic. Nice job.
I didn't mean to post this on the PhotoVCarve Gallery. I didn't realize the mistake until after I had submitted it. My apology for the double posting. It's also on the VCarve gallery.
