We have some friends that have been relocated to the US from the UK for about 3 years now. I tell them they are to americanized now (at least their kids are) to go back to England.

Re: Plaque for some friends
John
It's been awhile since I did that plaque.
First I planed and sanded the board flat and applied some sanding sealer and allowed it to dry.
second, I then used some masking film, covered the outside edges and applied a white stain to the entire middle section and allowed that to dry. I may have milled out the stars as well and painted them with a couple of coats of white stain.
I then remasked everything and did the blue sections and painted them with a blue stain and repeated the process for the red sections, the black lines and finally I used a brownish wood stain for the picture and edges.
Not too hard, just a little time consuming. I am not the best painter so I did have to go back and do some touch ups here and there.
Hope this helps
