3dConnexion driver

Post by Adrian »

Any chance of a driver for the 3D Connexion devices (spacepilot etc)?

I use these extensively in my design work and it feels really strange to not be able to rotate the 3D image around using it.

I would like to second that request. I use my SpaceBall in 3DS Max and Rhino and I really miss it in the Vectric programs.

I would also second this request, not just for Cut3d, but for all Vectric products. Once your used to using a 3d controller, it seems so cumbersome to have to go back to using a mouse to manipulate your model. 2D files such as the drawing window in VCarve Pro also are much easier to move around in with a spaceball.

Old post requesting support for 3DConnexion support. I echo the feelings that once you've used a 3DConnexion device with CAD you can never go back... Any chance at getting this revisited?

Oh,
Nice. I´m not alone ;0)

Vectric products are the best I know to do a lot of my products. The other things I create in Rhino and there I use the Spacenavigator.
Often i switch to Vcarve with the Spacenavigator in the hand and will rotate the parts ;o(

Its a beautiful tool for any CAD and vector softwares. Vectric should plug in.

I which a happy new year, Ron from Germany

Funny this subject came up today, because I was looking at a couple of options to buy. The cheaper one has 2-buttons and the other has 15-buttons. Is it pretty easy to catch on using the one that has more functions? Gary

I used to use the Space Pilot but I sold it and switched to the smaller Space Navigator. I found that I never really bothered with all the extra buttons as I knew all the keyboard shortcuts for the software I use already and I always found myself using the keyboard rather than the shortcut keys.

I use the Space Navigator but i love everything with a lot of buttons ;o)
I will buy a Space Pilot next days.

The Space Navigator is a fantastic thing and if you use shortcuts its nice thing because its small.

I have been using these since they first came out and Logitec owned them. My first one was a Cyberpuck. Now I have the Space Pilot Pro. I use it with Rhino3d, Alibre Design and Mastercam. It would be great to also be able to use it with Aspire.

I wouldn't hold your breath for a driver though. Looking at the date of this thread it's been seven years since I raised the subject!

As Brian said on another thread at around the same time there aren't that many people who use them so it wouldn't be a good use of Vectrics time to add a driver. Might be different now there a few more programmers though!
