Rotary Carving Blank Shape

Post by GR Hiatt »

I am cutting some elliptical table leg profiles, 4.5" on one axis and 2" on the other. The blank that I am using is 5" x 2.5" Is there a way for VCarve to recognize the rectangular blank, rather than a cylindrical blank, so that the cutter spends less time cutting "air"?

Thank you, in advance!

Shouldn't this be the other way around? Cut3D's "model blanks" are rectangular.

Do you have Cut3D or VCarve?
