layering
I have been trying to layer a couples name over their last name and all I get is a mess, what am I doing wrong?
here are the steps i took
layer 1 last name
layer 2 first names
weld
I have been working from a book that gives you the stops but I still have had no success.
I have also had trouble putting a 3d item inside a pocket pass such as putting a farms name in raised letters and then putting cows or horses in the pocket.

Re: layering
Can you post your file? That will eliminate a lot of random guessing.
How do I upload files or photos to the forum?
If the file is too large to upload you can place it on a site like drive.google.com or dropbox.com, make it shareable, and share the link here.

Re: layering
You might want to watch the video on "Stacked Text". It's for VCarve and i'm not sure what adaptations, if any, you'll need to do for Cut-3D.

Re: layering
Thanks for the video, there were some things VC pro 10.5 do different then when the video was made but I think I got it. I programed as I watched and took notes so when My ADD kicks in I will still have it!!!

Re: layering
Did you restart the procedure from scratch or did you try to use the first file and only swap toolpaths around?Custom carving wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 12:31 ambut when I wanted to change the text from the top to bottom layers I failed
The vectors that worked for “text a on top” and “text b on bottom” will not work if you want to have “text b on top” and “text a on bottom”.

Re: layering
As far as doing jobs like this there shouldn't be any difference to the procedure whether the video maker is using VCarve or Aspire. The 2D vector creation and toolpathing is identical between the two products as is the 3D with an existing model.
By the way you posted your question in the Cut3D section of the forum which is a totally different product from VCarve or Aspire which will reduce the help you get as people will think you're using that software to start with.
