Version 12 Modeling issue

Post by rwebcon »

I have installed version 12 of Aspire and having some problems with creating a two-sided bowl. Maybe it has something to do with the shape but I can not get the thickness of the lip to reduce in thickness. I’m looking to get it down to about .25 but to date I have not been able to make it happen. The link should give you access to my version 12 file.

Remember that 3D finishing toolpaths stop when the centre of the bit reaches the selected vector boundary + boundary offset. You have a boundary offset of 0 so the bit will not travel deeper than you see.

If you make that boundary offset 0..24 you will get the effect you are looking for with the model you have.

PS. Why a 1/8" ball end bit for the inside of the bowl instead of the 1/2" that is doing the outside?

Did not do much to the lip of the bowl. I have attached a profile of what I'm looking for. There is a lip around the bowl that hangs over the
bowl profile.
