Which file format to choose

I recently purchased vcarve desktop 10 and want to purchase designs from design and make web site . It is asking me what file type ?? PNG, stl, v3m.
Which file does vcarve like.

In VCP....we're only allowed one model of anything except .v3m.....so I would recommend .v3m..
As then you could add another .stl(whatever) and design it with as many .v3ms as you wanted.
That's one of the major pluses of D&M with V-Carve Pro!!

Not that I'm aware of Nick....Proprietary format I believe for Vectric.

The D&M videos show the guy dragging and dropping components (e.g., mountains, ducks, deer & etc.) onto the mantle design and I take it from the answer above that those must be V3M files because "we're only allowed one model of anything except .v3m."

Am I understanding this correctly?

Yes that's correct. The models sold by Design and Make are available in V3M format (as is the 3D clipart supplied with VCarve) and you can have as many as those in a job as you like.

Other 3D format files (such as STL) can only be placed into VCarve job once (there's no limit in Aspire) but you can replicate that one design as many times as you like in a job so you can do things like import a flourish and replicate it for the corners of a frame for example.
