Re: Mini grease gun

Yes Martin I did a Google search, but can't get the right information about the nipples, will they fit the Hiwin bearings as they seem to have a tiny ball bearing, which I can push in with a tootpick, I have never used a grease gun before, I have a tub of Granville copper grease which I must have bo...

Re: Extend Xaxis

Martin, I am not using plastic wheels, I got rid of wheels and belts years ago, too much adjusting and hassle, I have fixed linear rails to the C beam and use Hiwin blocks on the rails, I have been happy with that setup

Re: Extend Xaxis

Thank you both for the replies, yes it does make more sense to buy new rails, I don't want to take the chance on there being a "bump", I was not trying to save money I just had a spare length of rail and I don't like waste, Martin, I did think about going wider to 1300mm or more but I am very tight ...

Extend Xaxis

I want to extend my Xaxis by 200mm, I need to do some kitchen cabinet doors, it is 1000mm at the moment, and I want 1200, the gantry is a C beam extruded aluminium and 2 linear rails, can I add 200mm small sections to the existing 1000 linear rails on the new 1200mm C beam, I mean but joint the rail...

Re: Clipart

Thank you adze_cnc
Yes I agree, not a lot to work with, I will try and get some screenshots, I am not too sure how to do that, and the same applies to posting the g-code file, but I will try, and yes I use the same post processor all the time,

Clipart

I am doing some more clipart, I do a lot of this, the problem I have is on the finish toolpath the Z axis sometimes raises up to the safe Z height at the end of every line, I did one small carve with a 1/16 inch bit and it plunged down and stayed down at the end of every line, only raising up to fol...

Re: Roughing toolpath

Update, I am running another carve at the moment in Pine, and about the same size, started again from scratch, the roughing toolpath has just finished without any problems and I am now running the finishing toolpath, I did use a new 1/4 inch endmill, but I don't think there was anything with the pre...

Re: Roughing toolpath

Thanks, GEdward Yes I agree with you and Martin, it is not a Windows problem, and no I do not have a servo, I think it is strange that on the roughing toolpath it stopped in a similar part of the carve on 3 different occasions, at the end of a line going from right-left, just as it was about to reve...

Re: Roughing toolpath

Yes, Thank's Martin, that is all good advice that I will try on my next large carve, I am going to read more about rest machining, it is something I have not tried yet although I did watch Mark Lindsay's video on youtube, I will watch it again, I still don't know why my roughing toolpath is not work...

Re: Roughing toolpath

Thank's Martin, worth trying I did not think of that, I usually do much smaller ones so had to use small bits, I will give that a try, and also it will give me a chance to try rest machining if needed
