Re: Correct Height On 3D Object
the height of the model dictates the depth of cut. Use the "check z height of model" button under modeling to see where you're at or to change. The only control you have on the tool is how deep a cut per pass it will take along with the speed and feed.

Re: Depth on 3D Object
The depth of cut is going to be dictated by the z height of the model.
Use the "Scale Model Z Height" button to view and adjust the overall height.
Note - it will flatten the model and possibly suffer a loss of detail if it is a lot of change.

Engraved Rolling Pin
The rolling pin was a 99 cent thrift store find. I decided to use it for some rotary work and add a pattern. While engraved pins aren't new, what you normally find are laser engraved rollers where the pattern goes into the wood. This was 3d engraved so that the pattern is UP. cheers!

Re: Heart and Ribbon Inlay Piece
What is your source for African Pink Ivory Wood, Nick? that is a long story - I spent a couple of years in Europe. Belgium to be specific which has/had a direct pipeline to Africa. While Pink Ivory prices were thru the roof here in America, I was buying it up at sometime 1/3 the price at a wood sto...

Re: Some laser work for inspiration
Looks good, thanks for sharing. Can you also share what laser module you added to your CNC. None. I have a Universal Laser System M300 and access to 3 Nova Thunders. I added this piece as an inspiration to those that are adding laser modules and wanting to see what kind of things can be done with t...

Re: Some laser work for inspiration
thank you. both the pocket and the inlay each took approx. 25 minutes. I ran it fast (250-300mm) but it is a long 18" scan per line in both cases so it takes a while.
