Re: toolpath template problem
When you load the template you should be getting a dialog appear that gives you the choice to create missing layers, delete toolpaths with missing layers or load the toolpaths without creating the missing layers. The layer names it should be using are the ones that were associated with the toolpath ...

Re: Getting a pattern into V Carve Pro?
From what you describe in the previous post the problem was that you had the Job Setup form open. You must have that closed before the Import options become available.

Re: Getting a pattern into V Carve Pro?
Do you have any other tools open when you're trying to do the import? If you have the Job Setup form open for instance you would get exactly the behaviour you're describing. If you do exactly the following (as a test) it should work fine: 1. Start VCarve. 2. Click create a new file. 3. Click Ok to d...

Re: Grids
You can't make the dots for the grids darker as far as I'm aware. If you want to use lines then you can right click and choose Guides to insert a guide line (they can also be placed by dragging from the left or top of the window as well). It may be worth telling us what it is you're doing that requi...

Re: Node Editing
You can group select and convert nodes in VCarve as well. Drag around the nodes you want (or shift-click) and then press the relevant shorthand key or use the context menu.

Re: Getting a pattern into V Carve Pro?
There are two different ways in VCarve depending on the format of the file. If it's a bitmap (some PDF's, JPG, TIFF etc) then you need to use the "Import Bitmap for Tracing" icon or choose Import Bitmap from the File/Import menu. If it's a vector file (some PDF's, EPS, AI, DXF) then you need to choo...

Re: Any way to move in a guide line when a item is selected ?
Why not use the alignment tools themselves? You can line up on the last vector in the selection or you could use the move tool, set the anchor appropriately and cut/paste the relevant axis location.

There's a drop down box called Profile Pass in the Clear Pocket... section. It can be set to No profile pass, first or last.

Re: flat area clearancing tool help needed
You can turn the final profile pass off in the pocket toolpath (or make it the first part of the cut) if that helps.

Re: Compression cutters UK Supplier
Don't see why not. The only difference would be that the finish quality would be reversed. I tend to avoid up cut bits when I can as a lot of the materials I cut are pretty light and I get a lot of lifting whereas the down cut bits keep the material on the table.

Re: how would I accomplish this?
VCarve and Aspire are identical as far as the vector (2D) side of things goes so those videos would work for both.

Re: VCarve Pro tips on speeding up the cnc time
We need more information really. What sort of times are you seeing and what would you expect? What type of toolpath are using? What's your machine?
If you could attach a VCarve file with an example of what you want to do that would help.

Re: V-Carve Pro 6.5 Help
Do you mean that when you go into a toolpath and click Select... it doesn't find the tool in the database? If you've made any changes to the tool in the tool database since creating the toolpath then you won't be able to go back to it without reselecting it in the database. This is a safety feature ...
