Re: Child's rocking chair
I am just a hobbyist and really enjoy doing these kind of projects. Did you design it your self or adapt it from another plan? The wood looks like Walnut?
OBTW: Really nice job.

Re: Square outside corners
The allowance offset is causing the problem. When set to 0 the toolpath will produce square corners. Not sure why until I do a little research.

Re: Keeping toolpaths from being unchecked
Why not just give each toolpath an appropriate and descriptive name?

Re: One way tool path?
Why would one computer, same version vcarve 10.5, produce a toolpath different than the other computer? I don't have an answer for that. DXF files come in various flavors and some computers could handle them differently depending on hardware. If you close all of the vectors in your file everything ...

Re: One way tool path?
If you use the "Select Open Vectors" tool it will select nearly all of the vectors. The Vector Validator shows only 2 overlaps. There may be some oddities in the DXF file.

Re: Bits & Clamps
I seldom use clamps. Most of the time I screw the workpiece to the spoilboard. Then there is the issue of running into the screw head. Not saying that I've done it but I do have a nice collection of headless screws.

Re: First Christmas Project completed
This nativity project, a large version, was first completed in the late 90's with bandsaw and scroll saw and much hand sanding. So I found a table top version and thought that I could bring the patterns into Aspire and trace the patterns using the straight line tool. I found using the method that I...

Re: Another Name Sign
That is beautiful. I would like to make some for my 3 grandkids. Can you provide a few details on how you created the cut file. I assume that you created a model with the Create Shop Curved Profile. Since you have made many you have likely fine tuned the process, chosen a suitable font and ideal sp...

Another Name Sign
Over the last 4 or 5 years I think I've made about 50 or 60 of these. They seem to be popular with friends and family and a quick and easy evening project. I had some scrap Bocote left over from a yester-year project and thought it would make a good name sign.

Re: Copy 3d model on double sided project
Make and place all four copies on the topside and copy them to the other side. I'm using Aspire so there may be some V-Carve limitations.

I have never tried to do an inlay. But, after seeing yours, I think I'm going to give it a try. Since I have never done one I can't give an opinion but, from the picture, it really looks good.

You can also just delete the standard library folder in the clipart window and add a folder manually from any drive. Then move all of the clipart to the new folder. That's the way I have mine organized so I can keep previous versions of clipart separate.
