Re: Requesting Gadgets

Can I please have a gadget that stops me from making dumb mistakes like deleting a file when it shouldn't be? That would fit in with a feature request I made some time ago to have Aspire do what I want it to do rather than what I tell it to do. C'mon Vectric, make it happen! How hard could it be? :D

Re: something that really annoys me :o(

Snapping over to the end of the component name annoys me too. I don't need to see the part that says baked-baked-baked-baked-baked-baked-group, I need the first part that says Component 1. :D ETA: A little more seriously, I don't think it should scroll the + or the check box off the edge. That shoul...

I agree, great job. I particularly like the way you turned the emblem into the shadow box. Clever and well executed.

Re: 3D Edge Fillet

I would use create shape from vectors to make a couple of domes limited in height to provide a flat surface, the smaller one set to subtract. Then bake and smooth the transition.

Re: Aspire 8

64 bit was a huge deal to me. I was shopping for software to replace Aspire because I was so frustrated at the slow speed of modeling when I found out 64 bit was on the way and decided to wait and see. It was worth the wait and the money for that alone.

Re: Model View Acting Crazy

To be fair it does say on the sculpting form that you have to hold Alt down. Although it appears to work most of the time without Alt it will go "crazy" sometimes. Huh, maybe I should read some of that stuff. :P Holding alt did eliminate the problem. And I've only had the problem in the sculpting v...

Re: Model View Acting Crazy

I've been having the same problem too, panning using left and right mouse buttons together. This is the first I've heard that we're supposed to hold alt at the same time. Just the two mouse buttons works a few times then it freaks out, then it works again then it freaks out again. Next time I'm scul...

Re: 3d disc ends up profiling-can i add tabs

In a 3d tool path the bit will go to the bottom of the model. If you have the model with no gap below it in the material set up screen it will cut it out. The cure is to put a gap below the model then use a profile tool path to cut it out. The profile tool path is where you can add the tabs.

I don't understand the hostility on this thread. Folks, if you don't want to help this poster, don't post, it's as simple as that. If you're offended by him asking these questions for some reason, stop reading it. Let those of us who are trying to help him do so. The harsh comments are not helping a...

Re: New User

Adrian, So if I understand you, create the "axe" (for lack of a better term) with a component, then leave the rest as vectors? This makes sense to me but, again, given the fact that I can't see how to make a component go in the negative Z direction, wouldn't the vectors be at Z0 and the vectors at ...

Re: How can I get rid of spikes

The png I used has a transparent background and I noticed that there were some spots where the background was showing through (I put a red layer behind the fish in Photoshop). I think the spikes are where there are no pixels. I can fix the png and redo the file...I thought there might be a way to g...

Re: New User

Cac, After looking closer at your vectors, I did see you do have two arcs connected with a line for the cutouts, they're just not as far apart as mine. No big deal. I also see how you did not need another circle in the center as the sweep took care of that. This is probably the part that is still t...

Re: How can I get rid of spikes

There's two ways you can get spikes like that. If you're seeing them like you are in the component before running a tool path preview then you've likely got a component set to add overlapping another component, which may or may not be set to add. If just one set to add, try swapping the order in the...

Re: Zoom Selected and snap to grid spacing

I'm trying to make a grid of accurately spaced holes and was having trouble getting the right thing out of the array copy tool. So, I decided to make 1 row of holes, select them copy, paste and move them down. If I have them selected I can move them with the arrow keys. If I press zoom selected, th...
