Is it Aspire 2.0 or me
In working with Aspire 2.0, I found a change from Aspire1.0 regarding the Toolpath Window. After I calculate a toolpath in 2.0, the Toolpath window only shows the Toolpath List and the Preview screens. In 1.0, I will get the Toolpath List, the Preview and the Toolpath Operations. It seems the Toolpa...

Re: Rotary Axis Question, 4th axis, indexed 4th axis
I was under the impression that Vectric was working on a 4th axis solution. I believe Tony mentioned this in the "camp" in 2007 in Pittsburgh.
I too would like a 4th axis module.
Maybe a survey of Vectric customers might help convince the powers to be that it would be a profitable idea.

Re: OT forum question
"the forum will keep unlogging me"
I had the same problem when I use AOL. I now get on the forum through Internet Explorer without any problems. This is the only forum that I have had a problem with when using AOL.

Re: Making a Tower or Wall
Ted,
I am very appreciative of time you took to put the tutorial up for all of us to learn from.
You, like a few others, have certainly mastered Aspire very quickly.
Thanks,
Larry

Re: "Unsuitable Vectors" warning???
Bob,
Those 80 vectors have to be closed. Once they are closed, all of your work will be toolpathed.

Re: What do you guys use to cut the tabs?
Like Angelic, I use the Electro file. I have tried the small hand saw, small router, utility knife etc. I cut a lot of thin Baltic Birch plywood and find that if I try to snap the tabs as others have said, they often break more than the tab. With the Electro file, I do not mind adding extra tabs bec...

Liam, First, I want to thank you for your continued effort to resolve my problem. I did take your advice by importing the file into Solidworks. It looked good and I thought it would work. However, SW (2004) is not real good at handling STL files. When I opened the file in Cut3D, all I got was the ad...

Bigz Thanks for your input. I looked at your link. If you are referring to slicing off the top, I tried this already. Slicing does remove the thin rectangular area that I am tring to get rid of. However, the slicing file adds a profile cut around the area where the rectangle was. See pics 4 and 3 in...

Mark296 I tried the -0.01 idea you mentioned. I saw no difference in the sliced version. It still cut a profile around the model. I also tried a non sliced model on my machine with the -0.01 idea as you described and it cut the thin rectangular pattern into the board as shown in pic 2 above. The sli...

Slicing problem
I believe others have had this problem before. I bought the annual subscription from Vector Clip3D. It is a nice package for the most part. However, as discussed elsewhere on this forum, the VC 3D files are imported with a rectangular boundary. (See pic below.) I only have this problem with the dish...
